The 12th Edition of ICC Cricket World Cup has kicked off in England and Wales two weeks ago. Ten teams are contesting for the prestigious Cricket World Cup.
It is tough to predict which team will actually win the cup. One team with the potential of winning the tournament is the West Indies. Let’s review about the current West Indies squad for ICC World Cup 2019.
The West Indies squad is led by a young talented all-rounder, Jason Holder. His recent match-winning performances led him to rank number 8 in ICC all-rounder ranking.
The team is packed with powerful hard-hitters who have played for different leagues around the world. The key batsmen to watch are Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope and Andre Russell.
Chris Gayle and Shimron Hetmyer will be unstoppable once they settle themselves in the matches. Shai Hope is another heavy scoring batman who ranks 5th in ICC ODI Batting Ranking and has been scoring big since the beginning of 2019.
The squad has more young and experienced batsmen like Darren Bravo, Ewin Lewis and wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran could add stability and more power to the aggressive West Indies Batting order.
