India vs New Zealand Test Series Day 1 Live Updates

Mayank Agarwal’s brilliant century (120) guided India to post 221/4 on Day 1 of the second test match against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Watch India vs New Zealand live on YuppTV and get all the live updates.

It was Mayank Agarwal’s responsible knock that helped India to score a decent 221 after a quick top-order collapse. While India looked in a solid position after Indian openers gave a good start, Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel (4/73) removed Shuman Gill, Chesteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer in quick intervals. Gill was caught at first slip by Ross Taylor after the ball took the inside edge of Patel’s brilliant delivery. Pujara was clean bowled by another Patel’s bright ball. However, Virat Kohli wicket was the trending topic throughout the day. Ajaz dismissed Kohli and was given leg before out by the on-field umpire. Kohli reviewed the umpire’s decision, but the third umpire found no conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field umpire decision. Kohli returned to the pavilion for a duck, but the cricket fraternity raised many questions on the decision. Twitter went crazy over Virat’s dismissal and criticised third umpire for his decision. Mayank stood strong for Inidia and scored his fourth century that included 14 fours and 4 sixes and didn’t shy away to knock Patel. Wriddhiman Saha (25) made sure India didn’t lose another wicket and countered Ajaz spin well.

Along with Ajaz Patel, Tim Southee bowled a great spell to continue the momentum and pressure Indian batters. The first test match star Rachin Ravindra only bowled 4 overs for no wicket. Mayank and Saha will look on to take Kiwi bowlers early on Day 2 and aim at scoring close to 400. On the other end, the Kiwis will look for early wickets.
