India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I- Will Team India Seal the Series?
After registering a thrilling final over victory against the Kiwis in the first T20, Team India is gearing up for the second match in Ranchi. Watch India vs New Zealand live on YuppTV and experience all the excitement.
The Men in Blue under new skipper and head coach grabbed a much-needed victory in the first game after a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign. Chasing 165, the newly appointed skipper Rohit Sharma (48) led from the front, and Suryakumar Yadav (62) scored a brilliant half-century before Rishab Pant (17) finished the formalities in the final over. Suryakumar has used his opportunity in Kohli’s absence and played a solid knock while chasing. Despite losing Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer at the end, Rishab Pant stayed calm and took his team over the line. While Tim Southee and Todd Astle leaked some extra runs, Trent Boult, Ferguson and Mitchell Santner bowled at a decent economy. Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Kiwis to bat first. Martin Guptill (70) and Chapman (63) provided a brisk start after losing Daryl Mitchell without opening his account. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/24) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2/23) used their experience and restricted Kiwis at 164.
Martin Guptill is just 11 runs away to surpass Virat Kohli record of most runs in the T20s. The Indian skipper stands third in the list and isn’t far behind in the race. Sharma needs 142 runs to break Kohli’s world record and has two games in the series. While Rohit Sharma-led India would like to win today’s game and seal the series, Tim Southee-led Blackcaps will go all the way to level the series. Bhuvneshwar finding his rhythm is a positive sign for India, and if the middle-order chip in at the right time, the team is unstoppable at the moment. Both the teams are likely to play the same team without any changes.
